Which would be a better place to try to get my first job?

I'm 16 and here are the options for my summer job soon, the bakery, vet, flower shop, or Dairy Queen. I'm not sure which one I will choose though. Which one would be the best?

Definitely the vet's office. Retail things like a bakery or Dairy Queen are good for just making a bit of money, but they are isolated sort of jobs with no room for advancement or anything really valuable to learn. The vet or the flower shop, on the other hand, would expose you to a more defined career world. The flower shop would expose you to the world of business, especially if you get close with the owner and learn how it works behind the scenes. The vet would expose you to both administration and medicine, so both scientific things and interpersonal relationships. There are simply more skills and more useful bits of knowledge to be gained working there. It would be better than learning how to make a milkshake at Dairy Queen.

Reply:The Dairy Queen would give people skills and would benefit you the most when you are ready for a real job after college. It will give you the skills employers are looking for.

Reply:i worked at a vet, i thought it would be great, all the cute little animals and stuff. but all i did was clean the crap out of thier cages. it really wasn't all i thought it would be.

Reply:I would go with the vet since you maybe leaning towards a career in vet science or the medical field. This would pay you to learn what it means to be a vet and if this is the field that you are interested in for the long haul.
