What should I do about this job?

There are 4 of us working at a flower shop and the owner has given her friend the managerial position. The problem is, she doesn't know squat about the flower business as far as actually doing the work.



There is a lot of animosity among the employees, and there are some that really resent this new appointment.



I don't, but others are coming to me with their problems....I don't need to hear them....as I have my own problems to deal with.



One elderly woman has tried to befriend me. She and the new manager were once good friends and she feels as though we have all betrayed her.



I keep telling her that everything is ok...but she says that she is hearing things from the other workers telling her that I am bad mouthing her, even though I am not.



She says that people are telling our boss things that we talk about privately. I know that this is not case.



Could our workplace be bugged...and what should we look for if it is?

how do you know the old woman is telling the truth? in most work places you'll find people that gossip and/or lie. it may do no good for your job but rise above such churlish behavior. it's good for your soul.

try to go to work and when u leave work dont take it home

wait if anyone is going to run that mouth and start Drama who would it be first GRANDMA the one that not only smells bad and hates her own life she lives to mess up others

well what do u do start telling that boss stuff the old lady said make it up or some one in the work place just start telling them some off the wall stuff one by one and when it comes back you will no if its bugged on if they just LIVE DAYS OF OUR LIFES

Reply:I wouldn't freak out about. Just remain professional and don't give in to all the chaos. I was in a similar position and refused to stoop to such a level. In the end the people who were gossiping and acting immature were let-go.
