I think it might be from an old musical or something. The commercial is the one where everything is running smoothly at an outdoor flower shop until this lady pays with a check and the music dies out and the flowers wilt...
What is the song being whistled in the new Visa Check Card Commercial?
Is it "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott? Powerhouse is most well known from some old Warner Brothers cartoons from the 1940s and 1950s. Bugs Bunny, etc.
Reply:This song is "Brazil" which is an old song, this version with the whistling is done by Geoff Muldaur - and is on the soundtrack to the movie "Brazil" - by Terry Gilliam.
Look for the "Silver Screen Edition" of the soundtrack there are 21 tracks in total and there are various different versions of the song "Brazil" on the CD.
Hope this helps!
Enjoy!

I find it extra creepy that they decided to use my favorite move about the darkness and overly bureaucratic dark future, to advertise how cool it is to have big brother in your wallet!
Reply:powerhouse
Reply:I asked the same question. It is not Tiptoe through the Tulips. I think it is from the 1940's and maybe has a Spanish name. Can't get it out of my head!
Reply:This song called: "Aquarela do Brasil" and has been covered by a lot of brazilians singers.
