if i go to a flower shop and buy a large hillium balloon, hang a little plastic bag with two small envelops in it, let it go into the air, how long and how far will it treval before falling too the ground? and lets suppost that it doesn't meet any obstacles from the ground or the air.
How long will it take for hillium balloon to come down from sky?
It won't it will burst before it can.
As it rises, the temperature drops, pressure drops, hence the volume of the gas inside increases, and the balloon expands until it bursts.
The distance and the time it travels will depend on wind conditions, air temperature, humidity etc.
The only way it will come down though is in pieces.
Reply:It will go a long way up, if the balloon has thin walls it may expand to the breaking point as the atmospheric falls with altitude, or it may reach a state of equilibrium and stay at one altitude for a decade.
Reply:It would pop on the way up. Helium is a gas %26amp; gases expand w/ decreased atmospheric pressure (I think Boyles Law). So it would never reach the ground as a balloon, however, depending on weather conditions, your plastic bag containing the envelopes would fall somewhere remote from wherever you lauched it, along w/ the fragmented latex from the ballon. Why don't you try it?
On 2nd thought, maybe don't b/c it might be be hazardous to birds or even planes. Hmm... I don't know.
Reply:i believe you mean helium? it will not fall with the balloon together, after it reaches a certain height it will pop and fall back to earth because it is lighter than the air if you didnt know that already. it takes a while for a helium balloon to fall anyhow.
Reply:depends on alot of factors, what type of balloon was it? how well was the knot tied?
Distance will depend on the day and the wind, more wind more distance. Eventually, the balloon will get high enough in the atmosphere and burst due to the differance in pressure and tempratue...where it will land...I couldn't tell you
Reply:Depends if its windy... If its windy it will travel pretty far, if its not it might not go to far....
If it goes up to high the pressure in the balloon will expand it and it will pop and come down quickly!
I would suggest test trying it with a little bit of weight and see how that works... Good luck!
Reply:u can make it out by weighing less than the ballon, holding it and flying with it. if u r fear of coming back than ur team workers would lay mattresses on the ground 4 ur support
